This private residence in Vasant Kunj, Delhi, was conceived as a refined architectural and interior intervention, where spatial planning and material expression come together in a cohesive, high-end living environment. Designed as a large-format residence, the project balances structural clarity with aesthetic sophistication, creating a seamless dialogue between built form and interior experience.
The design language blends modern classical elements with contemporary detailing, resulting in spaces that feel both timeless and current. Expansive layouts, double-height volumes, and carefully articulated transitions enhance openness while maintaining a sense of intimacy. A curated palette of stone, wood, and subtle metallic accents, paired with layered lighting and bespoke furniture, defines the residence’s elegant and enduring character.

Challenge
The primary challenge lay in organizing a large residence into a coherent spatial system that maintained both visual continuity and functional zoning. With expansive floor plates and double-height areas, it was essential to avoid visual fragmentation while ensuring each zone retained its own identity and purpose.
Balancing grandeur with everyday usability was another key consideration. The client required a home that felt luxurious yet practical, with clear circulation, defined private and social spaces, and a design language that would remain relevant over time. Integrating architectural scale with interior detailing demanded careful coordination across materials, proportions, and lighting.
Solution
The approach focused on establishing a strong spatial framework supported by disciplined planning and layered detailing. Double-height volumes were used strategically to create visual anchors, while transitions between spaces were softened through material continuity and controlled lighting.
A cohesive material palette—featuring natural stone, warm wood finishes, textured surfaces, and subtle metal accents—was carried throughout the residence to ensure consistency. Custom-designed furniture and built-in elements were integrated to align with the architectural language, enhancing both functionality and visual harmony.
Lighting was treated as a key design element, combining ambient, accent, and feature lighting to add depth and highlight spatial volumes. Thoughtful zoning ensured privacy in personal areas while maintaining openness in shared spaces, resulting in a residence that is both elegant and highly livable.
